LONDON - Vertu, the luxury mobile phone brand, has appointed Black Sun in a CRM drive to boost the value of its customer base.

Luxury mobile brand Vertu appoints Black Sun for CRM drive

Black Sun is working with Vertu to build on Vertu's existing loyalty service Vertu Concierge, accessed through the ‘Concierge' key at the side of every phone.

The key puts the user through to a team of lifestyle managers who book services such as gourmet dining, and luxury travel or accommodation around the clock.

The agency will mount a personalised communications programme designed to build long-term relationships with Vertu's customers.

Sarah Keyes, Vertu's head of global CRM, said that Black Sun had shown "quality thinking" and "a pedigree in growing customer value for both mobile and luxury brands".

Vertu's marketing encourages consumers to view mobile phones in the same vein as luxury watch brands such as Rolex.

Handsets are made in Britan from materials such as gold, sapphire, rubies and leather.

Prices for Vertu phones start at $5,100 for the Vertu Constellation model. Its most expensive model is the Signature Cobra, at US$310,000.
