Lowe still in as Unilever shortlists three for £25m Flora

LONDON - Incumbent agency Lowe has made the shortlist for Unilever's £25m global Flora account, along with fellow roster agencies Ogilvy & Mather and Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

The pitch includes the main Flora spread brand as well as Pro Activ, the cholesterol-lowering variant. Unilever has called the pitch after coming close to switching agencies in the past three years.

Lowe has held the Flora account since 1999 after it merged with Ammirati Puris Lintas, which launched Flora back in 1969. The agency has seen its grip on Unilever business lessen somewhat, with the loss of the Surf account to Bartle Bogle Hegarty last December without a pitch. The agency has since appointed TBWA\London managing partner Helen Chaffey to head the global account for Unilever laundry products.

BBH handles advertising for the Bertolli range, including the advertising for the spread that used to be known as Olivio. Ogilvy & Mather looks after Elmlea, the cream alternative, and Lever Faberge brands Dove and Comfort.

The review is being overseen by Unilever Bestfoods' Andrea Schmidt.
