Lowe aims to shore up Unilever billings with Chaffey hiring

Lowe & Partners is attempting to tighten its grip on the Unilever account with the appointment of Helen Chaffey as its global account director on Unilever laundry.

Chaffey joins from TBWA\London, where she was the managing partner on its Masterfoods account.

This follows Unilever's decision last December to move its £8 million pan-European Surf account out of Lowe and into Bartle Bogle Hegarty. More recently, Unilever's Flora, a global Lowe account, also decided to review.

Chaffey, who before taking on Masterfoods worked on Procter & Gamble at a variety of agencies, is replacing Pierre-Emmanuel Maire and is due to start at the beginning of next week.

Meanwhile, TBWA has hired Lowe's David Goring-Morris to run its Whiskas account across Europe. At Lowe, Goring-Morris was responsible for HSBC in the UK and Johnson & Johnson across Europe. He was also the general manager of Lowe & Partners, involved in co-ordinating the group companies.
