The service, through its partner, mobile services provider Opera Telecom, will notify users as new ads are placed with Loot, direct to their handset.
Consumers simply specify the goods that they're interested in buying and then pay 25p for an SMS alert that will notify them daily at 8.30am when relevant items go on sale.
The new SMS service can be set up on the site (www.loot.com) or from their mobile, but the service will be extended to let users search from their mobile and get results by SMS.
Mark Robson, head of interactive media, Loot, said: "We have been working with Opera Telecom as part of plans to extend our reach to customers through mobile. We hope to leverage our relationship to enable customers review and place ads by SMS. With a large proportion of this audience owning a mobile, we're confident it is the perfect medium to target customers."
Loot is working with Opera Telecom on a revenue-sharing basis. It converts all text to SMS, and manages delivery and billing of content.
Gary Corbett, managing director of Opera Telecom, said: "As the functionality of handsets continues to evolve, so do the expectations of users."
