Due to be held in Spring 2009, the best events will win cash prizes and successful teams will be offered up to £200 to cover event costs.

"The partnership with Seventeen Events gives students the opportunity to put academic theory into practice in a competitive environment," said London Met Events Management undergraduate degree course leader Tom Lunt.

Seventeen Events director Andrew Williams added: "We hope this competition will give valuable insight to event management students of the value of a sustainable approach. We're also delighted to be able to support the talent of the future."
