According to a source, The London Kitchen logo has European trademark. The company has worked with a trademark specialist, who has confirmed The London Kitchen logo is protected.
Jonathan Read, the commercial director at Tobacco Dock told Event: "Our position is very straight forward.
"Our branding consultancy developed the logo directly from the Tobacco Dock visual identity, which was created in 2011."
He added: "The use of a knife and fork in a logo is not uncommon. If you Google catering companies a myriad of businesses do precisely that to indicate their specialism."
The London Kitchen sent a letter to Tobacco Dock regarding the matter, and planned to contact the registered owners on Friday (11 September).
The letter stated that if Tobacco Dock did not cease and desist by 4pm Friday, further action would be taken.
Read said: "I wasn’t aware of The London Kitchen logo until yesterday afternoon (10 September), and there was no intention to cause confusion or in any way pass Tobacco Dock Food off as The London Kitchen.
"We have responded to the letter and rebutted the claims."
Tobacco Dock Food is the new in-house catering arm of Tobacco Dock.
