A total of 18 cities from Dover to Edinburgh have been earmarked for the project, which will see London 2012 branded big screens erected in the city centres.
Members of the public will be able to watch live coverage, highlights, exclusive athlete interviews, video diaries and special cultural films from 8.00am to 10.00pm each day.
"The Live Sites are a great opportunity for cities across the UK to enjoy the action, and, with our exclusive content, they will be a great destination for families to enjoy what we expect to be an exciting and inspiring Winter Games. This will be a real taste of what the public can expect for 2012," said chair of London 2012 Seb Coe.
At Games-time in 2012 it is hoped there will be a national network of screens - both permanent and temporary - enabling local communities to gather and watch the events.
