According to Liverpool Football Club, there are 3m Liverpool fans in the UK who will now be able to access match highlights, player interviews, live match commentary, competitions, downloads and alerts if they have the Orange World service.
Rick Parry, chief executive of Liverpool Football Club, said: "We are very
pleased to welcome Orange to Liverpool FC and hope for great things from the partnership. We are looking forward to our 3m UK fans now being able to enjoy Liverpool Football Club through Orange World on their mobile phones."
Orange says that more than 1m of its customers already use its sports services, and partnerships, like the Liverpool one, allow football fans to experience the sport, clubs and players that are relevant to them in a new and exciting way.
Julian Diment, head of brand and commercial partnerships at Orange UK, said: "Orange is giving Liverpool fans the chance to experience a wealth of information about their Club and players through their mobile phone."
Orange is to market the service to fans via Liverpool's programme and magazine, perimeter boards, leafleting, mailings, and online ads.
The other clubs that Orange has signed similar deals with are Chelsea, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers.
