The appointments, which double the size of the team to about 20 staff, comes as part of the £2 million-plus Littlewoods is ploughing into developing its new-media operation (Revolution, 22 May, p3).
Littlewoods Leisure has appointed Amanda McCrystal, formerly head of Open Extra and enhanced retail for Sky Active, as head of its interactive digital television team. At Sky, she was responsible for developing the Open Retail platform, which operated as the broadcaster's virtual shopping mall.
Former BSkyB e-commerce manager Elaine Waterson, who was in charge of the internet, iDTV and mobile at Sky, joins as new business development manager for interactive media.
Roger Marris, previously a new-media consultant at Coral Eurobet, comes on board as head of internet to develop online betting and gaming opportunities.
"These appointments support our deal with ITV as its exclusive gaming and betting partner, said Peter Cuffe, director of interactive media at Littlewoods Leisure's parent company Sportech. "Interactive television is where betting and gaming is going and our whole strategy is to bring well-integrated products as enhanced entertainment for consumers."
