Crawford is set to leave "in the next week or so" and it is yet to be decided whether he will be directly replaced, an LG spokeswoman said.

Crawford's departure follows that of LG's marketing director Andrew Warner to Expedia in January, which prompted the promotion of Paul Trueman to the role, and comes ahead of LG Mobile sales and marketing director John Barton's planned departure in April.

Crawford, a former managing director of Green & Black's, was appointed to the role in May 2009. He reports to LG's UK president Brian Na.

LG Mobile has been looking for a replacement for Barton as well as head of marketing Jeremy Newing, who left in September.

In January the company announced record figures for its fourth quarter earnings.
