The commercial, which was filmed in Beirut's Hamra Street, aims to salute the army's sacrifice and send a message of solidarity to those still fighting the militant group at the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp near Tripoli.
The ads are the work of advertising agencies H&C Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi Beirut, who pooled their resources to create the campaign.
Nada Abi Saleh, head of the communications department at H&C Leo Burnett, said: "This is the last thing we could do to support our army. They have been fighting and losing their lives for the past 35 days and we wanted to tell them that they are in our hearts. We want them to know that we all love them, that we care, and this is our tribute to them."
The commercial was filmed for free by Beirut-based production house Independent Productions and everyone else involved in the campaign -- including the cast, caterers and printers -- provided their time and resources for free.
Lebanon's largest broadcaster, LBC, and satellite channel Future TV have already agreed to air the 45-second commercial, which features a soldier walking down Hamra Street and being saluted by pedestrians as he passes. The agencies are hoping to recruit the support of other channels, including New TV, before the campaign breaks, backed by 600 billboards across the country.
Lebanon's army, which is regarded as the only institution that truly symbolises national unity, has lost more than 80 soldiers since fighting began on May 20.
