According to 3,000 people surveyed, the top five ‘World First' moments captured on television were: the Neil Armstrong moon landing in 1969; the inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009 and the assassination of JFK in 1963, followed by Dolly the cloned sheep and the world's first test tube baby in 1978.

The moon landing was chosen by over half of respondents, while a third chose Obama as one of the most memorable TV moments.

The survey was commissioned to promote the launch of new Bravia TVs to the UK market - the world's thinnest LCD TV at 9.9mm, the first wireless picture frame TV, the ‘fastest' TV with a frame rate of 200Hz and world first OLED TV brought to the European market.
