In a report in the Mail on Sunday, Lancome is said to have declined to renew Thurman's contract, which will no doubt ignite speculation that it is because she is too old.
Thurman, 33, the star of Tarantino's gangster flick 'Pulp Fiction' and who recently split with husband Ethan Hawke, took over from Italian actress Juliette Binoche as the face of the brand.
The hiring of Thurman by Lancome was believed at the time to have been an attempt to quash speculation that Binoche's departure was down to her age.
Thurman recently developed body dysmorphic syndrome after the birth of her first child. The illness made her anxious about her appearance to the point that she believed she was overweight.
However, the actress's agent is reported to have denied there were problems with her work for Lancome, but confirmed the contract had ended.
The UK premiere of 'Kill Bill' was held in London last Thursday, October 2, to rave reviews.
