KFC gives away sunscreen that smells like fried chicken

Would you like some SPF30 lotion that smells good enough to eat? Too late!

KFC has some sort of obsession with making things that smell or look or taste like fried chicken but are not fried chicken.

A trip through our own archives finds a set of chicken-shaped PC peripherals from Japan and the infamous fingernail-licking nail polish from Hong Hong (which didn't make any more sense even after we talked to the creative team involved). ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 is also going to count a recent Malaysia stunt that involved a piñata that looked like a rice wrap burrito (whatever that is) and a fairly recent fashion show in China where models were carrying buckets of (presumably fake) chicken.

The latest weirdness is this US video promoting a sunscreen which can make you smell like poultry that's turning crispy in a deep-fat fryer while you're blistering in the sun. Unfortunately, the mail-in offer was only good in the US. Anyway, the 'while supplies last' period turned out to incredibly short; though the video was posted yesterday, the stuff is all spoken for.

Like Coke with its special bottles and cans bearing names / nicknames / song lyrics / movie quotes / emoticons / dates, KFC seems to have latched onto something that created a viral storm and will be repeating it in many markets. So ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 eagrly awaits the brand's next faux-food promotional tactic. ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 also awards extra points for the casting of actor George Hamilton as the Colonel this time; fans of a certain vintage will remember that he was well know for his supernatural tan.
