Kershaw exits TDA after 15 months and "job done"

LONDON - Simon Kershaw, executive creative director at Cheltenham-based TDA, has left the agency after 15 months in the role.

He will not be replaced and the agency's department will be led by its current creative director, Mark Pearson. Heather Westgate, TDA's chief executive, said Kershaw had added "strength and depth" to TDA's creative offering.

Kershaw, a copywriter, is returning to London to explore a couple of agency options. He described his departure as very amicable.

"I was brought to TDA to do a specific job, namely to improve the creative product and raise the agency’s creative profile," he said. "That job is now done and I can move back to London to explore a couple of options."

Heather Westgate, TDA’s chief executive, said that Kershaw had added strength and depth to the agency’s creative team, with such appointments as Simon Coulthard, a DMA-award winner, as senior copywriter.

Kershaw led TDA's creative team across a roster of clients, including AA Insurance, Nationwide and Matalan.

During Kershaw's time at the agency, the firm diversified its client base into fundraising, with wins such as St Dunstan’s, the charity supporting ex-servicemen and women, and Help the Aged.

In 2003 Kershaw co-founded Keevil Barton Kershaw, now disbanded, with Phil Keevil, his former art director partner at Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel, and Steve Barton. Before that Kershaw spent 11 years at Craik Jones, working on brands such as Land Rover and First Direct.
