Sales from events at the Surrey venue now make up 50% of Kempton’s total profits, according to accounts for the year to January 2012. The remaining profits come from race days and hospitality.

The racecourse has also experienced an increase in Christmas party sales, which more than trebled in 2012 from 485 covers to 1,567 covers. Kemtpon added an additional shared party night for its Racing Nights in December.

Sales of day delegate rate packages also doubled in the year to January 2012. The venue sold 5,375 packages, up from 2,516 the year before.

Kempton is part of Jockey Club Racecourses, a collective that was launched last year. Rupert Trevelyan, regional director for London at Jockey Club said: "It’s great to see that Kempton Park Racecourse’s reputation for event excellence has been reflected in sales and attendance. We’re looking forward to continuing to develop this standing throughout 2013, and hope to see similar statistics this time next year."

Kempton Park offers spaces for up to 700 people. The venue’s Grandstand underwent renovations in 2011, with investment to modernise public areas, seating, bars and food outlets.
