The company said the rise in turnover has been estimated on the strength of forward bookings, as KDM has seen a rise in the number of teambuilding events, motivational learning activities and corporate entertainment as companies focus on retaining top talent as the economy recovers.
To meet this demand, KDM has appointed two new account executives to further bolster its sales team, and is in the process of recruiting for its event crew.
KDM's commercial director Nicky Whyman said there has been a direct correlation between the economic upturn and a change in the format and content of corporate events. "As well as the focus on developing and retaining high performers, companies are pursuing aggressive recruitment strategies," she said.
"Not so long ago most corporate events that weren’t product launches were about breaking bad news in a sober trading environment. ‘Fun’ wasn’t really on the agenda. But now organisations are investing in their workforces again. Our clients are planning energising and stimulating events that have an educational content but also show appreciation for loyalty and hard work."
KDM’s latest recruits are Charlotte Board, who joins the company having held an administrative role with Npower before running her own business as a wedding planner and New York destination wedding specialist; and Jacqueline Plimmer, who brings extensive experience in sales administration, as well as overseas business and leisure tourism to her role at KDM. Both have been appointed to support KDM’s Stoke-on-Trent office sales team.
