Magazinesondemand.co.uk was launched three weeks ago and, to date, has signed up 20,000 registered subscribers who have access to more than 100 titles that can be downloaded as a one-off or for a fixed period of time. Increasing numbers of publishers are now signing up to the service, which is currently free to users.
Clegg, formerly of Emap Consumer Magazines and GE Popworld, leaves her position as commercial director at digital magazine company Zinio, which also offers a similar magazine download service. She takes up her new position in September.
She will replace Simon Clough, who was brought in on a short-term contract to launch the John Menzies Digital offering.
Ellis Watson, managing director of Menzies Distribution, said Clegg was chosen "for her in-depth knowledge of our business and especially her great understanding of the digital magazines sector".
