John Lewis takes price promise online

High-street retailer John Lewis is extending its “never knowingly undersold” guarantee to goods sold by online retailers.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - High-street retailer John Lewis is extending its “never knowingly undersold” guarantee to goods sold by online retailers.

For 60 years, the retailer has promised that if customers find they can buy the same goods cheaper elsewhere, John Lewis will refund the difference. Now it will do the same if the customer finds a product sold cheaper online.

The move is seen as a battle cry from the high-street retailers, which have to choose whether to compete with the lower prices offered by online rivals.
