In December the incumbent Lowe withdrew from the pitch, having worked on the account since August 2006. The pitch also involved MCBD.

The department store chain called a review of its above-the-line arrangements in November. The pitch process was handled by AAR, and led by John Lewis' head of brand communications Craig Inglis.

The retailer's media agency Manning Gottileb OMD and direct marketing agency Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw were not affected by the review.
