John Holberry resigns from Magners-parent C&C

LONDON - The UK managing director of Magners-owner C&C, John Holberry, has resigned after less than a year in the job citing concerns over his role at the cider maker.

John Holberry resigns from Magners-parent C&C

In a statement Holberry said: ‘I have enjoyed working in C&C and building the Magners GB team over the last year. However the appointment of the new management team, headed by John Dunsmore, reduces the opportunities for me to develop my career.'

Holberry joined the company in March 2008 as MD of Magners GB from Coors Brewers, where he had held the role of managing director, Coors Sales Operations, from 2001.

His appointment was made to give a greater focus to the UK market where Magners had lost share to Scottish & Newcastle's Bulmers Original brand.
