JHP wins brief from upmarket Seoul department store

LONDON - UK design agency JHP has won a brief from Hyundai to redesign its flagship department store and reposition its brand as the 'ultimate luxury lifestyle experience'.

The store is located in Apgujeong in Seoul, an upmarket area comparable to Fifth Avenue in New York or London's Knightsbridge.

JHP has been commissioned to redesign the food, beauty and jewellery halls and other spaces in the store, as well as developing the brand identity that will appear on all of Hyundai's bags, packaging and gift wrapping. It will also work on an extension of the building.

Steve Collis, joint managing director of JHP, said: "We are completely reinventing the store experience, to bring it in-line with the brand's reputation for innovation, service and prestige consumerism."
