The festival organiser will initially host three one-day pop music festivals in 2014 as it expands its North East Live brand to become UK Live.
The company has also secured two further sites for 2015, and plans to expand the festival series under the UK Live banner to a total of up to ten shows, adding one or two locations each year.
North East Live was held for the first time last year and welcomed 30,000 festival-goers. Sam Bush, AEG Live promoter, told Event: "We had huge success in the North East last year. We felt there was a gap in the market for outdoor pop festivals, which no one has really focused on. We will be hitting all markets and creating the biggest outdoor pop brand there is."
The new festival series will see events hosted in the North East at Sunderland's Stadium Of Light on 22 June 2014, as well as East Coast Live at Ipswich Chantry Park on 28 June 2014 and South West Live at Weston-super-Mare Beach on 29 June 2014, the site of the now defunct T4 on the Beach.
in August 2013 called Summer Sets on the Beach. However, .
Bush said AEG Live has no qualms about launching a new festival in Weston-super-Mare.
"T4 on the Beach was sold out every year, so this year's cancellation [of Summer Sets on the Beach] was unfortunate," he added. "But South West Live will feature 4 Music broadcasting a TV show, as well as involvement from Heat magazine, so it has a proper launch and media package. It is more visible to the public."
Other performers announced so far include The Saturdays, The Vamps and Union J, with further acts set to be announced in the New Year.
The seven-hour shows will include full sets from each performer, with the first acts of the day performing for at least 20 minutes, and headliners taking to the stage for 45 minutes or more.
