JCDecaux expands contract for Hong Kong International Airport

HONG KONG – Outdoor advertising company JCDecaux Pearl & Dean has renewed its ad contract with Hong Kong International Airport for a further 10 years.

The new contract will cover all internal and external ads at the airport, as well as a new ad opportunities with the opening of the SkyPlaza terminal extension project and exterior advertising at SkyCity in July of this year.

The ad contract will enable the company to take advantage of new developments at the airport that will take place over the next few years. This will also involve the introduction of more interactive ads and state-of-the-art displays to enable advertisers to reach their target audience.

SkyCity is a group of major developments linked to the airport, including an international exhibition centre called The AsiaWorld-Expo, a nine-hole golf course, office towers and the Sky Plaza -- a large shopping mall consisting of businesses, retail and transport to suit the needs of local and international visitors as well as air passengers.

Christina Cheng, of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, said: "JCDecaux was chosen on the basis of its past track record and its ability to introduce innovative product and marketing solutions from its international network that take into account our unique airport environment and service considerations."

JCDecaux handles the advertising for 153 airports across the world.

Jean-Charles Decaux, co-CEO of JCDecaux, said: "Hong Kong International Airport is the busiest international airport in Asia in terms of international passengers traffic and one of the top five international airports in the world with more than 40m passengers a year."
