The Big Feastival will take place on Clapham Common from 1 - 3 July and will combine "London’s finest gourmet experience with the look of an urban village fete and a music festival vibe".

It will be headlined by Soul II Soul, New Young Pony Club and The Charlatans and will raise funds for The Prince’s Trust and The Jamie Oliver Foundation.

Oliver said the event is something he has wanted to try for a while.

Tickets will include food from some of the capital’s top chefs including Giorgio Locatelli, former Masterchef winner and Wahaca co-founder Thomasina Miers, and Mr Oliver himself.

Kids under 12 will go free with a funfair and kitchen garden planned to keep them entertained.

"Festivals were often known for their dodgy burger vans and some gigs were a bit ‘chicken in a basket’, so it’s good to redress the balance and have great bands and fantastic food in the same place," said Charlatans lead singer Tim Burgess.
