2002: Dental nurse Jade Goody enters the public eye when she appears on Big Brother 3. She is mocked by the British press for thinking that Cambridge is in London and on finding out it is in East Anglia declaring that she thought "East Angular" was abroad.
The Sun nicknames her Miss Piggy.
Goody manages to win over the public and stays in until the final weekend, finishing in fourth place.
2002-2004: Goody appears in various TV shows including 'What Jade Did Next', 'Celebrity Wife Swap' with Charles Ingram, 'Celebrity Driving School' and 'Celebrity Weakest Link'.
September 2005: Goody opens a beauty salon called Ugly's in Hertford. The preparations for the opening of the salon were filmed for a Living TV series 'Jade's Salon'.
2006: Goody signs up for the London Marathon but collapses part way through the race and has to recover overnight in Royal London Hospital.
She explains afterwards: "I don't really understand miles. I didn't actually know how far it was going to be." She also told fellow runner Gordon Ramsay that she had been eating curry and drinking the night before the marathon.
May 2006: Goody launches her autobiography 'Jade: My Autobiography'
June 2006: She launches her own perfume called Shh ... Jade Goody
Late 2006: Goody searches for a new PA in a series called 'Jade's PA' on Living TV
2007: Goody ranked 25 in a poll by Heat for the most influential person in the world
2007: Goody returns to her roots and enters Celebrity Big Brother 5, but this time takes her mother and boyfriend Jack Tweed in with her.
Along with Jo O'Meara and Danielle Lloyd, Goody is accused of making racist comments to fellow housemate Shilpa Shetty.
Ofcom receives more than 54,000 complaints from members of the public, a record.
January 19 2007: Goody is evicted, Channel 4 bans crowds gathering outside the house and cancels the press conference.
2008: Goody appears in the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss. Two days into the show she is told she has cervical cancer and withdraws from the programme.
