Jacob appointed to permanent Pearl & Dean role

LONDON – Kathryn Jacob, the acting chief executive of cinema advertising firm Pearl & Dean, has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis.

As part of the role Jacob will also join SMG's executive management group, which looks after all of Scottish Media Group's four divisions, including Scottish TV, Grampian TV and Virgin Radio.

Jacob took on the role as acting chief executive in January following the establishment of Peal & Dean as a standalone division within SMG.

Prior to this appointment she was managing director of SMG Access, the SMG cross-media offering, and had previously been commercial director at Virgin Radio.

Andrew Flanagan, chief executive of SMG, said: "Kathryn's ideally suited to this role through her combined experience of advertising sales, brand and people management. She's been an excellent ambassador for Pearl & Dean in the last six months."

Jacob said: "I'm really looking forward to developing on the huge potential that Pearl & Dean has, both with consumers and advertisers."

Jacob was replaced at SMG Access by Mike Hope-Milne, former head of sponsorships and promotions at Capital Radio Group.
