
The event’s founder Julie Benson said it was Pollard’s "rare mix of functional leadership and creative flair" that won her the role.
Pollard’s priority will be to integrate the event’s online activity with the live event next summer ensuring that Britain is "properly represented".
"This really is the career and personal opportunity of a lifetime to be involved with such a historic event," she commented.
"I am relishing the challenge to show the world that we live in a remarkable country and to celebrate all the businesses, organisations and individuals that contribute to making our economy and society richer in every way," she added.
