ITV Worldwide hires Binks for digital role

LONDON - ITV Worldwide, the international distribution arm of ITV's theatrical, video, TV, publishing and consumer products, has appointed ROO Media's Jason Binks as its new vice-president of digital and new media.

Reporting to director of global content publishing Steve Gallant, Binks' role will be to develop the company's digital business and create further opportunities within the international market.

He will be working across all aspects of digital rights, including DTO (download-to-own), DTR (download-to-rent), and VOD (video-on-demand), at the company, which combines the recently merged Granada International and Granada Ventures businesses.

He will also support the television and home entertainment sales teams at ITV Worldwide and will deal with technology companies in the environment.

Binks brings more than 10 years' digital media experience to the role, most recently as senior sales and distribution director for Europe at ROO Media. He previously held business development roles at Groove Mobile, Hyperlaunch New Media, Buongiorno and DX3 Technologies.
