The deal the deal will run from 2006/2007 to 2008/2009, giving ITV exclusive broadcast rights for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals of the tournament.
Mark Sharman, director of ITV Sport, said: "ITV and Uefa already enjoy a very successful relationship and the addition of the Uefa Cup to our Champions' League coverage and, of course, Fifa World Cup makes for a very powerful line-up for ITV's channels."
The new agreement between Uefa and ITV also includes the Super Cup, which this August pits Champions' League winners Barcelona against Uefa Cup winners Seville. The games will be shown across ITV1 and male-orientated digital channel ITV4.
ITV has screened the last two Uefa Cup finals as well a number of other games featuring UK clubs, including Middlesbrough and Newcastle United, but has never been guaranteed exclusive coverage of the high-profile final rounds of the tournament.
Simon Shaps, director of television at ITV, said: "This is exactly the sort of top-flight event that ITV is committed to bringing to the network. [The tournament] performed strongly for us last season and, in recent weeks, we have seen the power of live football in uniting audiences in a way that very few events still can. ITV is the perfect home for a tournament of this size and scale."
