ITV to air more talent shows

LONDON - ITV is once again pinning its hopes on talent shows to attract viewers in its spring and summer schedule.

ITV to air more talent shows
Pop Idol and X Factor judge Simon Cowell is joined by former Mirror editor Piers Morgan and actress Amanda Holden on the judging panel for Britain's Got Talent, featuring amateur comedians, jugglers, magicians and dancers vying for a slot at the Royal Variety Performance.

ITV has also unveiled its answer to BBC1 hit show How Do You Solve A Problem Like A Maria?.

David Gest, who featured in last year's season of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, will host Grease Is The Word, a contest looking for actors to play Sandy and Danny in a revival of musical Grease.

Elsewhere, Sir Trevor McDonald will front a satirical show, News Knight, and tour the country in Britain's Favourite View.

ITV also hopes to capitalise on the success of its recent hit movie, The Queen, with Diana's Last Day, a documentary tracing the final movements of Princess Diana.

Ben Elton, Shane Ritchie, Martin Clunes and Max Beesley will also star in shows.
