What it's really like inside Orange

We asked the marketing team at Orange what it's like to work there

How do you come up with new marketing ideas?
They are all linked to stunning consumer insight and communicated in an award-winning, visionary manner - most of the time, anyway.

What is the main marketing challenge you face?
Making multimedia beneficial and accessible to the masses.

Describe the marketing team in three words.
We love customers.

Is there a dress code?
Strictly informal.

What is the local pub?
Our local is The Dudley. It has an amazing view across the A40 and free pollution.

What are the perks?
A Michelin-star quality canteen, cheap/free phone calls, depending on who you talk to, a really positive company spirit and culture to work (and play) within.

Are there any downsides?
Inconsistent air conditioning.

What are the hours like?
Sometimes one hour can seem like eight - but most of the time eight hours seem like one.

What is it like for training and career progression?
Very good. We have great people and make sure they're looked after.

What about the salary and benefits package?
They are OK, although we'd always welcome a pay rise.

Is there anything interesting about your office?
We have a series of time/date clocks behind our reception desk, which tell us the time in London, Paris, New York and Middle Earth. Most people think that Middle Earth is a made-up place but we don't - we've read about it.

Is there anything else readers may find interesting about the company?
Our internal engagement team posts regular updated news snippets in our loos, helping everyone to keep abreast of what's happening in the world; handy, and proof that men as well as women can multi-task.
