ITN said the move is part of its plans to achieve an aggressive growth strategy for its cross-media platforms, which includes the ITN Source , through a £1m investment in ITN Source and the broadcaster's 3G mobile business, ITN On.
Dave has worked on developing a uniform vision for ITN's multimedia platforms and new-media identity, which follows the broadcaster's multimillion-pound shareholder investment programme last year.
Sean McKnight, senior consultant at Dave, said: "Many people know ITN for TV news, but that's only part of the story. News firmly remains the engine of ITN, but the business also has the world's largest moving image source and generates a huge variety of content, for mobile, podcast, broadband, radio and broadcast."
Dave said it aimed to make the ITN Source content as accessible as possible, under the slogan, "Right Content Right Now", describing the changes as central to its commitment in delivering content in the fastest way possible.
Mark Wood, ITN chief executive, said: "We brought Dave on board to help us position ITN in these new markets and reinforce our already strong brand in news.
"The work it has done is instrumental in taking ITN to the next stage of its growth."
ITN described the changes as part of its ongoing website upgrade, which in the autumn will lead to the ITN Source website providing what it claims is the most advanced digital video source in the world.
The website users will be able to access, select and share video clips, and retrieve the latest ITN footage immediately.
Sue Thexton, managing director of ITN Source, said: "[The] rebranding signifies a very exciting period of change across ITN. Changing our name to ITN Source more accurately reflects what we do and communicates the diverse range of content we have to offer customers."
Dave, founded in 2003, lists Carphone Warehouse, 118 118, Orange, AOL Europe and Cable & Wireless among its other clients.
