The company will also supply news to Canwest’s Original 106 in Aberdeen, which goes on air next month, Absolute Radio’s Jack FM in Oxfordshire, and Herefordshire and Monmouthshire Classic Hits, which is owned by Laser Broadcasting Group.
IRN will supply news 24 hours a day to more than 260 commercial stations, with an estimated audience of 24 million a day.
Elsewhere, First Radio Sales has been appointed to handle the national sales for Jack FM, which goes live in October to a potential audience of 450,000 adults.
The station, which follows a format that has been successful in more than 65 American markets, has been described as "an iPod on shuffle for adults" aimed at over-30s.
As well as an analogue platform, Jack FM will be streamed live at and on DAB across neighbouring counties.
