Irn-Bru launches 'Goth' summer campaign

LONDON - Irn-Bru is positioning itself as a refreshing summer drink through a new TV advertising campaign featuring a group of teenage Goths.

The spot, ‘Goth Holiday', sees the group moping about in the suburbs before being inspired to take a trip to Blackpool on a summer's day following some Irn-Bru refreshment. The ad sees the Goths ride donkeys on the beach and visit the branded Irn-Bru Revolution roller-coaster.

The campaign by the Leith Agency, which features ‘Here comes the summner' by the Undertones, breaks on 28 May.

The new ad will also support the brand's refreshed design. Earlier this month, Irn-Bru unveiled a more contemporary look for its packaging (Marketing 14 May). The new packaging was designed by Blue Marlin Brand Design and has been rolled out across all Irn-Bru bottles and cans.
