Iris brings in new creative heads and more work

LONDON - Iris has strengthened its direct marketing division with several appointments, including Paul Beier and Susan Young as creative heads, and has won new business from Sony and COI.

Art director Beier and copywriter Young arrive from WWAV Rapp Collins where they spent five years and worked on Wanadoo and L'Oreal Garnier.

The pair said their mission is to raise the game for response-driven communication at Iris and make the agency a serious contender for creative execution and results at the next DMA Awards.

This week, Iris was hired by COI to produce a voting guide for teens and by Sony as lead below-the-line UK agency for its consumer and business-to-business divisions.

The Sony account and Gala Group business will be handled by new group account director Rebecca Brennan. Brennan has joined from OgilvyOne where she was senior account director, working on Halifax Bank of Scotland, SAP, IBM and Unilever.

Brennan will work with David Morley, Iris director and head of direct marketing, to grow the agency's financial services business.

Morley said the agency has doubled its ranks of creatives, planners and direct marketing specialists in the last six months and will be targeting potential clients with its latest consumer insight research.

Iris Manchester has also hired a new creative director after a long search. Pete Armstrong joins from JWT Manchester and authored the award-winning Scruffs spoof porn film campaign.
