Ipsos follows 12% profits growth with Alfacom acquisition

LONDON - Ipsos has revealed net first-half profits growth of 12.1% to €21.7m and has acquired Alfacom, a specialist automotive market research agency in Brazil.

The Paris-headquartered company said it was in an "excellent position" to achieve its full-year target of at least 8% organic growth.

The profit figures follow the announcement two weeks ago that first half revenues grew 4.5%, hampered by the strong euro, to €462.8m.

Alfacom, which was acquired for an undisclosed sum, will be integrated into Ipsos Loyalty. Its previous main shareholder Renato Fecchio will remain president.

Alfacom specialises in qualitative research and customer relationship management and serves almost all car manufacturers active in Latin America.

Rodrigo Toni, Ipsos country manager, said: "The Alfacom business is very sound and is complementary to Ipsos Brazil's portfolio.

"Their expertise in the automotive industry, satisfaction and quality research, and the efficiency of their operation, are a perfect fit to our strategic goals."
