The title is looking to compete on better terms against Bauer Consumer's market leading title, Match.

The change follows last year's redesign of the magazine, which is aimed at 8 to 12-year-old readers.

The magazine, which was previously priced at £3.10, will have a new cover price of £1.80, with the first issue going on sale on 26 February.

Shoot's latest ABC figure reveals its circulation increased by 7.1% year on year, to 35,830 copies.

Bauer Consumer Media's Match still dominates the children's football magazine market, with a circulation of 113,049 in the second half of 2007.
