IPC names Denny as publisher for Chat and Pick Me Up

LONDON - IPC Media has appointed Simon Denny to the role of publisher on Chat and its new weekly title Pick Me Up, which between them sell around 1.1m copies every week.

Denny will join the IPC Connect division from his role at IPC SouthBank as circulation manager, having joined IPC in 1996 as a graduate.

After gaining experience in circulation roles across IPC's women's weeklies and TV listings titles, Denny then went on to work at Haymarket as a publishing manager.

Denny returned to IPC's sales marketing and distribution division Marketforce as deputy circulation manager for IPC SouthBank's home interest portfolio.

Chat, edited by Gilly Sinclair, is the seventh most actively purchased magazine on the UK newsstand, however it fell 4.3% to 609,163 according to the latest ABC figures.

Pick Me Up, on the other hand, stormed the market backed by a large marketing budget, with a debut ABC of 503,950 copies.
