The May edition of Uncut, which is out today, will showcase a range of newer music, including Franz Ferdinand and Flaming Lips, as well as its customary mix of established artists, which this month includes cover star Morrissey promoting his new album 'Ringleader of the Tormentors', New Order's Peter Hook, Ray Davies and Scott Walker.
Allan Jones, editor of Uncut, said: "Our readers are incredibly passionate about music and movies and they've told us loud and clear that they want us to feed their insatiable appetite for new stuff.
"Of course they're interested in the new material from their established favourites, but their tastes are pan-generational and they're just as likely to be raving about the Arctic Monkeys as riffing on the influence of Jimi Hendrix."
Uncut, which has an ABC circulation of 110,052, is driving its new music credentials home this month with a mix of new sounds featuring the likes of Editors and Graham Coxon on its regular covermounted CD. Uncut retails for £4.20.
Tim Brooks, managing director of IPC Ignite!, added: "Uncut readers are fantastically selective lot. They look to the magazine to deliver them a comprehensive and authoritative mix of all the great new music and movies.
"They want us to provide them with a guide to the best new music of the month, which we do every month with the Uncut playlist CD."
