Ross has been working in online and mobile content business for the last eight years for companies such as Logica, CMG and Brainstorm.
For the last three years, Ross has been a consultant working with media and technology companies to extend brands on to mobile phones, including IPC publications such as NME, Nuts and Loaded.
Tim Brooks, IPC Ignite! managing director, said: "It became clear to us that Ross possessed not merely the considerable technical expertise, but importantly the interpersonal skills that would enable him to lead these initiatives within this very creative environment."
Ross will be based within the IPC Ignite! digital team to help develop the potential for magazine brands and explore opportunities on the mobile platform.
