IPC closes Uncut DVD spin-off after reader confusion

LONDON - IPC Media has closed the doors on its Uncut DVD title after the brand extension failed to deliver sufficient sales after three issues.

The title was launched last autumn as a quarterly extension to IPC's 110,000-selling films and music monthly Uncut.

It has not been published since the March/April edition and its closure was confirmed today by Tim Brooks, IPC Ignite! managing director.

"It didn't sell many copies," Brooks admitted. "We were probably confusing Uncut readers."

IPC never published an ABC figure for the title and Brooks did not disclose its target sales nor the sales its final issue delivered.

The magazine was produced by Uncut staff, so there have been no job losses as a result of its closure, Brooks said.
