IPC bolsters sales teams on weekly magazines

LONDON - IPC Advertising has promoted Damien Maclonan to the post of group account manager of its advertorial and sponsorship division IPC Solutions as part of an expansion of its weekly magazine's sales divisions.

MacLonan, who was account manager at Solutions, will report to sponsorship and promotions director Will Hurrell. He will be joined on the team by Matt Swarbrick, who has stepped across from his post as classified ad manager at IPC Ignite to become sales executive at the division.

Maclonan and Swarbrick will work on sponsorship and advertorials across IPC Connect, which publishes celebrity title Now, and IPC tx, the TV listings division.

IPC Advertising has also announced the expansion of Now's display sales team with the appointment of Sharon Lee as sales executive for the North of England. Lee moves over from IPC's women's and TV weeklies sales division to work specifically on this region for Now.

Mark Reen, group ad director for IPC tx and IPC Connect, said: "Revenues have grown by 25% year-on-year for the UK's biggest selling celebrity magazine Now. And the Solutions team working across IPC tx and IPC Connect have seen sponsorship revenues grow by over 90% in the last 12 months.

"We are, therefore, expanding the teams in both these parts of our business to drive this growth still further over the coming months."
