Internet Week Europe will take place between 8 and 12 November and will feature a series of events including conferences, technology demos, meet-ups, parties and panel discussions at a range of venues across the city.

Its overall sponsor will be Yahoo! while other media partners include the BBC, Google, Channel 4, WWP Digital, TweetDeck, Creative Review, New Media Age, Penguin and The Guardian.

Internet Week Europe aims to build on the success of its sister festival Internet Week New York, and will be presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).

Sally Chatterjee, chief executive of VisitLondon, said she expects the event to become an influential gathering of the world’s biggest thinkers in digital culture and commerce.

She said: "Just as the New York festival has put the digital industry on the map, we're excited to highlight all that London has to offer the digital community from the UK and beyond."

Nicolas Roope and Nick Farnhill, Poke London founders, and David-Michel Davies, IADAS’s executive and chair of Internet Week New York, will co-chair the London festival.
