Visit London, the London Development Agency and the Mayor鈥檚 Office have teamed up to launch Events for London, a dedicated department to help stage events in the capital.
The initiative was announc颅ed on 25 April at international sports convention Sportaccord in Beijing. The team will support the sporting legacy beyond 2012 and build upon events in the 颅capital such as the London Marathon and the Trafalgar Square Festival.
Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: 鈥淓vents for London brings together all the relevant bodies 鈥 police, transport, the boroughs and government 鈥 into one expert body. It is the one point of contact that anyone needs for staging an event in the capital.鈥
