ITV1 has already signed up former East 17 singer Brian Harvey, who was to appear with his model girlfriend Emma B, but the two have since split and Harvey is to appear on his own, robbing ITV1 of any sexual antics.
Harvey is being joined by former Olympic ice-skating champions Torvill and Dean, former 'Eastenders' star Sid Owen, ex-Steps singer Lisa Scott-Lee, and 70s Page Three girl Jilly Johnson.
However, with audiences averaging well above the 10m mark last series, ITV can command a slightly higher quality of celebrity and, despite pleas from agents, producers at ITV1 have rejected such overtures flat.
A show insider said told the Sunday Mirror: "It's amazing how many has-beens think they have a chance of getting on 'I'm a Celebrity'.
"For the first series, it was a case of running round trying to sign people up -- now we are batting them off with a stick."
ITV is expecting the second series to be even more successful than the last. The series will also feature favourite troubled tabloid model Sophie Anderton who jumped ship from Five's reality show 'The Farm' to join 'I'm a Celebrity'.
On 'The Farm', which last night voted out a disappointed Lady Victoria Hervey, things have been hotting up with disgraced former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore giving Rebecca Loos an intimate massage.
Loos, who knows a thing or two about footballers, having won fame for an alleged affair wirth David Beckham, told Collymore: "You must be one of the most intelligent footballers I've ever met."
The new series is due to air for two weeks in November this year. The last series averaged audiences well above the 10m mark and saw TV presenter Kerry McFadden crowned Queen of the Jungle.
