Ikea and Canon make up Consumer Durables & Furniture Big Awards shortlist

Mother and Ikea lead the way in the shortlist in the Consumer Durables & Furniture category in the ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Big Awards.

Mother’s work for Ikea, which was named ±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 of the Year in 2014, received three of the five places on the shortlist, while J Walter Thompson London picked up the other two for its work for Canon.

The Ikea ads "beds" and "the joy of storage" were both shortlisted as single entries. Ikea’s "the wonderful everyday" TV campaign was also nominated in Consumer Durables & Furniture.

Richard Brim, an executive creative director at Adam & Eve/DDB, was the chair of the judging yesterday.

The Canon and JWT London nominations included recognition of the "urban deer" spot as well as the entire "come and see" campaign.

Also judging yesterday were: Mark Goodwin, a creative director at M&C Saatchi; Vicki Maguire, a deputy executive creative director at Grey London; Caroline Pay, the deputy creative director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty; Andy Fowler, the executive creative director at Brothers and Sisters; and Tracy de Groose, the chief executive of Dentus Aegis Network UK.

The judging for the ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Big Awards is taking place in London all this week. The shortlists decided by the judges will be revealed the next day on Twitter and on ±±¾©Èü³µpk10live.co.uk.

Tomorrow, ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 will reveal the five categories being studied today (Alcoholic Drinks, Automotive, Health & Beauty, Online Services and Telecoms & Technology).
