Ikea awards US advertising account to Ogilvy & Mather

NEW YORK - Ikea has awarded its US $90m advertising account to Ogilvy & Mather after a final four-way battle.

The WPP shop beat sister agency Berlin Cameron United, Havas' Euro RSCG and Publicis Groupe's The Kaplan Thaler Group to the business.

The incumbent IPG's Deutsch was knocked out of the process at an earlier stage.

The review does not affect the Swedish furniture manufacturer's US media planning and buying arrangements which remain with WPP’s Mediaedge:cia.

In January, Ikea shifted its £8m UK advertising account out of Beattie McGuinness Bungay and into Mother.
