March’s Daily Mail Ideal Home Show was the best-attended show in the UK last year, according to figures from the ABC. The Dmg World Media consumer event at Earls Court attracted 426,528 visitors.
Trade Promotion Services’ Spring Fair Birmingham at the NEC in February drew 79,961 visitors making it the UK’s most popular trade exhibition.
Among the leading consumer events of 2001 were the London Boat Show, organised by National Boat Shows, with 158,515 visitors, and Haymarket Exhibitions’ Autosport International, with 86,411 people in attendance.
Reed Travel Exhibitions’ World Travel Market at Earls Court and CMP Information’s Furniture Show at the NEC were among the best-attended trade exhibitions, with 38,871 and 36,685 visitors respectively.
The audited shows with the most improved attendance will be announced at the Association of Exhibition Organisers’ Excellence Awards on 5 July.
