Morgan returns to IPC Media having started his career with the group in 1998 and worked on titles including Essentials and Practical Parenting.
Yvonne Ramsden, IPC SouthBank publishing director, said: "Morgan is dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate about the homes market and he will bring an exciting, fresh perspective to the marketing strategy for Ideal Home."
Ideal Home continues to lead the house and home market. However, in the most recent magazine ABCs in August, the title slipped 5.2% on the previous six months to 247,006.
Its rival House Beautiful, published by The National Magazine Company, also saw its fortunes slide further, down 6.6%. IPC's Living Etc was up 4% period on period to 94,041, a 9.4% year-on-year hike.
"I'm looking forward to diving in and working with the team at Ideal Home to keep it in its number one slot for a long time to come," Morgan said.
Morgan will take up his new position on January 9.
